Ever since I saw Bruce Almighty I always think this when I say the word Beautiful.
Today is the most beautiful day. Usually I'd say my favorite season is Autumn, but this is just too pretty to not appreciate. Could it be that I'm comparing it to the rest of the Tennessee weather we've seen the past few weeks? Maybe. Does that take away from how it makes me feel? NO.
Today I woke up early and got ready for church slowly. Though I still was in closed toed flats, I did pull out a cotton skirt to wear with a sweater. (thank goodness mix matching fabric is eclectic and not tacky.)
On the way to church the sun was blinding, which on a normal day would give me a headache, but today made me happy.
At church the message was about how we have made an idol of "more." We want more of everything- when nothing is going to make us happy, but Jesus. I was completely convicted thanks to the lesson and the book "The Irresistible Revolution" (Thanks for the book loan Emma B.) I feel like I should sell all my stuff and move to Calcutta.... but that's another story for another blog post.
After church the sun was still shining... It was the perfect weather outside. Though I didn't roll down the windows, I didn't have to turn on the air or the heat. That's what I call perfect temperature.
I then proceeded to the Presidential courtyard to take photographs for my latest TNJN story. (TNJN.com/staff/jhoaglin) I miss that courtyard. I miss young lindsey and the loud weed smokers outside of our window. I miss the nasty cafeteria caseroles and the yummy captain crunch dinners.
Then Ryan came over and we did homework in the living room with music playing. ahhhh... B.E.A-utiful.
More to come later. I'm sure you aren't as interested in this day as I am... but there's nothing like documenting a perfect day when it's only 4 in the afternoon.
