O LORD I need You
Capture me again
Steal me away
Take me deeper to Your heart
Surround me with Your love
And hold me close
And never let me go
So close that I can feel Your every breath
Until my heart begins to dance with Yours
Never let me go
Won’t You take me to a new place
To a realm of mercy and grace
Where love
Love flows heavy
Like a waterfall of honey
Let Your love be poured out on me
Overcome me
Overcome me
So, I've been humbled today-- and even though it seems personal, I kinda want to put it on my blog, so hang with me for a minute while I rant:
I have spent the past year and a half telling myself that "college is the only time in your life where you can be selfish" and "you have to take care of yourself because you're the only person who's going to do that right now." I think I've been tricking myself. (and oh-how-silly you feel when you realize you've been tricked by the same person you see in the mirror every morning.)
This lie I've told myself was because I am lazy. I used this to justify letting my priorities get way out of whack... And sometimes all it takes is a random day (Feb. 23, 2010) to get you back on track. I'm not saying that every day following this epiphany is going to be completely prioritized, but I am saying that I'm at least going to try.
And by saying "I'm going to try" I mean, "I'm going to let God do his thing."
Here are some highlights of the past few weeks and the next few weeks to come:
- Valentine's day was wonderful. I love that overrated holiday no matter how much I act like I hate it.
- I got placed as a Young Life Leader at Austin East and I attended my first YL club. (Prayer is all I know to ask for right now regarding that.)
- I got to go home for a brief seven hours... and It was totally worth the drive. Sometimes being alone in the car is the best therapy.
- I'm going home this weekend for my sister's baby shower-- I can't wait to spend some real time with everyone I love in middle Tennessee
- Dakota Elizabeth Fortney will be here in about 2 weeks. (I'm going to be an Aunt.) I am beginning to understand the word Unbelievable.
- Spring Break is closing in fast on everyone. Which means lots of tests and papers followed by a full week of relaxation!
